What is Indian Head Massage?

A Calming, Ayurvedic Treatment for Head, Neck & Shoulders

As a touch therapy Indian Head Massage is deeply relaxing, focusing on the neck and head.
Using gentle yet effective techniques, this treatment helps to ease tension, reduce stress, and restore a sense of calm.

Indian Head Massage is available at Sinead’s comforting, therapy space in Navan, Co. Meath, in four formats.
1. As a standard IHM which incorporates the neck and head (30mins)
2. As a deluxe treatment including the upper back, shoulders and face (50mins)
3. As a Deluxe Treatment with 30mins Usui Reiki included (90mins)
OR
4. As part of a deluxe pamper package where it can be combined with one or more other treatments or therapies

Mobile appointments are also available, in your own home, or residential setting and can be arranged for any clients, including those with accessibility or additional need.

Standard Indian Head Massage

The standard Indian Head Massage focuses on the neck and head only. It can be done by just removing the clothing to under the arms, exposing the neck and tops of the shoulders. The gentle massage begins over the tops of the shoulders, around the front and back of the shoulder and clavicle areas.

The treatment then moves to the neck, where your therapist will work from the base of the cervical spine, up towards the skull and from there the head massage is completed. The process takes approximately 30mins from start to finish and you will leave feeling lighter and refreshed.

This treatment is a great pick-me-up at the beginning or end of your workday, or as a sneaky lunchtime treat. It can be booked individually or as a six-session package, securing your time each week.

Deluxe Indian Head Massage

The Deluxe Indian Head Massage begins face down on the plinth and involves removing clothing from the upper body. Sinead will ensure there are lots of warm towels to protect your modesty.

Using warmed organic, cold-pressed sunflower oil or similar, Sinead begins the treatment on the upper back. Working from bottom of the thoracic spine (T9) and upwards towards the shoulders, she will ease out the tension and stress in your tissue. This treatment includes the upper arms too which are cared for at the same time as the back and shoulders.

As Sinead works into the neck and over the back of the head, the sides and front are left until you turn onto your back on the plinth. When the head massage proper is completed, Sinead will finish your treatment with a beautiful facial massage which leaves you feeling wrapped in a cocoon of relaxation and comfort.

This treatment is a wonderful ‘day off treat’ or when you have time to return home for a little nap. It is also a great pre-bedtime therapy, so you could book in for the last treatment of the day and enjoy the peacefulness you feel as you head to bed, early for the night.

Mobile Deluxe Indian Head Massage

The Mobile Deluxe Indian Head Massage brings the beauty and comfort of IHM to your home, your loved one’s residential setting or even care facility. It begins with you lying on your stomach. You will have removed clothing from the upper body. It is good to have at least two large bath sheets to hand.

Using warmed oils, Sinead begins the treatment on the upper back. Working from bottom of your thoracic spine (T9) and upwards towards the shoulders, she will ease out the tension and stress in your tissues.

All aspects of this treatment are the same as the in-clinic version of the Delux Indian Head Massage.

This treatment is a wonderful ‘day off treat’ or when you have time to go back to bed for a little nap. The comfort and peacefulness will linger throughout the day. Mobile Treatments are carried out on Wednesdays.

This treatment is available within a 10km radius of the Therapy Clinic in Navan Town. There is a travel surcharge for visits further afield. The Delux Pamper Package is a combination of the treatments provided at SCK Holistic Therapies for a special, healing and therapeutic experience. It is a true pamper session giving you space, time, genuine care and relaxation. The Package consists of :-
